Marigold by Manali Debroy is a collection of eighteen short stories. They are woven around love, family, desires, dreams, and realities of life. The cover page is soothing. The blurb didn't give much information about the content, but the prologue will clear the picture.
The collection of stories is inspired by real-life incidents, which make them connectable to the readers. Each story portrays a strong and independent female character. The first and last story have the same resemblance; the only difference is that one character left Casanova while the other chooses him and lives happily ever after. The plot went smooth, but the characters felt pain and love at the same time.
A few stories like A Persuasion Letter to Self, My Icon, and The Only Escape will leave the readers with thoughts of self-realization of the choices they ever made. The Label and Do You Work? are my personal favorite. Stilettos to the Rescue story had the potential to stand out, but the characters' names create confusion and break the flow. Not knowing the secret of Sophia will also make this story least likable.
The language is crystal clear, but the fonts are small, making reading a difficult task. Manali Debroy's writing includes a roller coaster of emotions, and it touches the heart. The stories were amusing and have a strong effect. It is fast-paced. If you like short stories, give this book a try.

Be happy about your success, but don't act like a dividing wall between you and your future goals.

Never be ashamed of anything you did in life because at that very moment, it was the exact thing that you needed to do.
