Diwali is one of my favorite celebrations. I love colors, lights, delicious dishes, and many other things about this festival. Growing up, I read many stories about Diwali and learned a lot.
I highly appreciate the authors' efforts who wrote stories for kids so that they could understand the significance of festivals and Indian culture. S.C. Baheti is one of those, a multicultural parent based in the USA trying to bring Indian culture's essence to her home.
Counting to Diwali is a product of such efforts. It is perfect for young kids if you want to teach them how to count from one to ten in Hindi. But it is not all this book has to offer; there's more. You can teach your kids about different customs related to Diwali, as the author provides beautiful illustrations mentioning distinct aspects of this festival.
I genuinely love the graphics; they are superb and eye-pleasing. This book will give you a chance to teach them about Diwali, a prominent Indian festival, and I am sure your little ones will enjoy it. I recommend it.
