Meenakshi R Singh's debut book, The 3 Pillars of Lasting Happiness, came to me at just the right time. Having recently experienced the loss of a loved one, I was in search of something—anything—that could offer a glimmer of positivity. While this book is not specifically about dealing with grief, it provided me with a much-needed path forward, filled with hope and purpose.
As the title suggests, the book is structured around three key pillars: gratitude, resilience, and purpose. Each section explores how readers can incorporate these elements into their lives to create genuine and lasting happiness—something many of us seem to struggle with in today’s fast-paced world. The author also shares personal experiences, which makes the content relatable and authentic.
I particularly appreciate self-help books that include practical exercises and worksheets, and this one does not disappoint. Meenakshi introduces several interesting models like the H-SMART Model, VIP Alignment, ROSE of Resilience, and the HEAP Model—all of which were new and insightful for me.
The book’s concise nature can be seen as both a strength and a limitation. If you are looking for a quick, impactful read, it’s perfect. However, if you prefer a deeply detailed approach with repetition and expanded examples, this may feel too brief. For me, though, its brevity was a strength—it delivered the message clearly and effectively at a time when I needed it the most.
Overall, it is a thoughtful, actionable, and inspiring guide. I am grateful I found it when I did, and I will definitely be recommending it to others seeking light in difficult times.
