Q.1
Please introduce yourself - Where are you from? How long have you been
blogging? What’s the name of your blog? What made you decide to start a book
blog?
A.
Hello, Myself Ankit Chouhan, and I come from a place known as the heart of India, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh. I have been blogging for the last 3 years, I started my
blog, for writing purpose, that's why my blog name is Ankit Chouhan AK, which
is also named as Reader's Delight, I turned towards book blogging after
starting reviewing books on Goodreads and Amazon.
Starting
a book blog was never on my mind, but there was an urge to form some sort of community of readers and writers, which made me start Writers Club India, and
book blogging automatically followed.
Q.2
What is your favorite genre and book?
A. I
have been a fan of Romantic fiction as one of them is a reason I started
reading and that was I too had a love story by Ravinder Singh. It also remains
one of my fav novels to date. Though I Iike to try various genres now and
thrillers are certainly getting favorites too.
Q.3
What one piece of advice do you wish you’d had when you first started the book
blogging?
A. I
did never realized how I can make my book blogging skills useful enough to earn and ended up reviewing everything that came my way without charging a single
Rupee. I think it's important to have basic knowledge about various things for
book blogging which I had no clue about when I started.
Q.4
What piece of advice you would like to give to other bloggers?
A.
Things will take time for anything that you will do in life and the same thing
goes with book blogging, neither you should underestimate yourself nor overestimate
yourself, value your skills with respect, and have patience in your work because if you will be honest with your blog it will surely reap rewards.
Q.5 How
many books are actually on your bookshelf/shelves right now?
A. I
never count books on my shelf, but according to my father, I had around 250
books till Diwali, which may be 300 soon.
Q.6 If
you could be a character from a book for just one day who would you be and why?
A. Not
an easy question to answer, but if it's about being in a character's shoe for a
day, it would surely be Griffin from Invisible Men by H.G Wells, because I think it's not easy to write such a mysterious character and to be able to live
life being Griffin would be a wonderful experience for sure, and maybe it can
inspire me to write other such characters.
Q.7 Is
blogging your profession or just a hobby? Does your family support you? What’s
their take on this?
A. To
be honest I have never considered blogging to be a profession for myself, it's
more of a hobby, but when I do it, I do it with full seriousness and put in all
efforts that it requires. Coming from a middle-class background, I never
expected any support from family neither did they want me to pursue it, and it is understandable,
but anything that I achieve through book blogging they very well appreciated, and that is enough for me.
Q.8
What do you think is the best strategy for getting more visitors to a blog?
A.
Connecting to more people on social media who are interested in the genre of
your blog is important, I have always focused on connecting with book lovers be
it on Fb, Insta, or any other site. Using unique hashtags helps as well in
making your blog visible on platforms like Google. Attach your blog link to
every online platform where you have a good presence and followers.
Q.9
What are the top 3 characteristics you look for in a good book?
A. Top three things that I look at in a book:
1. Plot and Narration style.
2. Characters.
3. Most important is Climax because I feel
readers do make an assumption from the ending of the book.
Q.10

from Libro Review, Aakanksha
